While migrating to different countries, immigrants often experience structural, social, cultural, and financial challenges. Similar is the case in the country of Norway which is foreseeing almost 800 000 immigrants and refugees every year. They include men, women, young adults, and children. Adjusting to the new environment is kind of a rough path and these immigrants often find themselves trapped in the non-existing boundaries which limits them to integrate with the rest of the residents. One such boundary is financial awareness and money management. Immigrant women who come with their families having very less information & low English proficiency contribute almost nothing in the house economy and tend to experience the least of what is going on in the outside world. As a result, they become emotionally, financially, and physically dependent on their partners. This module is intended to teach newly arrived migrant women about the importance of managing own/home finances, their active role and alleviate their present conditions. Multiple barriers like unavailability of the financial information in the first language, lack of interpreter services, cultural indifferences/technical jargon make it difficult to approach the financial institutions and social exclusion make the situation worse for women to know about money concepts. The prime agenda of this module is to ensure that women understand fundamental concepts of financial literacy and management for executing daily tasks.
